Basics of Blogging – Do not Kill your Blog

Blogging began in the early 90’s as just a way to post one’s thoughts. But today blogging has become a platform for business, profits and more. What has made blogs so popular? The main reason is that blogs are very easy to setup unlike websites.

You do not need complicated coding to setup a blog, you just need to follow some simple steps and your blog is done. Blogs reflect who you are, your belief system and helps you strongly voice your opinions.

The best part is that the world reads your blog and comments about it letting you know how they feel. It is interesting to note that search engines consider comments as fresh content. But always remember you need to maintain your blog well and make sure you do not trigger any unusual controversy. Some tips to be followed are discussed below.

The first tip to be followed is to respect your reader. They are spending some of their precious time in reading your blog so give them quality content. Be sure not to offend your visitor. You may be blogging about a recent political issue or some national issue, never let your emotions get the better of you.

Politic is a nice topic for a lot of people to discuss and debate about. But keep a control over the discussion. DO make sure it does not end up in nasty exchanges and verbal abuse. This will make use lose loyal customers who regularly visit your site

The next important tip is to keep the layout simple and grand. Do not use very bold colors that would strain the eye. Let the words be readable and let people want to come back again and again.

Its always good to use simple readable font and light sober colors rather than something flashy and bright which you will hardly feel like reading. Finally never forget to update your blog regularly.

Most of us begin well. Some may update content every day, after some time it becomes once a week then once a month and eventually you may forget about your blog. By updating regularly you get more traffic from a loyal audience as well as from search engines.
