How to Drive Traffic to My Blog

You have set up a blog and obviously you intend to drive the maximum amount of traffic to the blog. There are millions of blogs out there and almost everyone is blogging about something. While setting up your blog have a clear intention in mind.

For what am I blogging? Is it just to share my daily thoughts? Is it to drive traffic to my website or is it to promote a specific product or service? Once your motive is set, you can setup your blog and you wait. Sometimes there are no comments, no visitors and you are practically disappointed.

It is important to market your blog or else it will not be possible to actually get people to read what you have posted. Firstly it is a good idea to set   up an email subscription form and make all who are in your friends and family network to subscribe.

You can include colleagues, friends, clients, associates , family etc. There is an option to set up feeds in your email or messenger accounts which will have the link to your blog and will get spidered by the respective search engine.

You can comment on blogs that are on your target area and give a link to your blog. Do not say very general things, give an informative, useful comment that will make them feel like visiting your blog.

You can use Ping-o-matic to ping your blogs to blog directories every time you post something. Make sure to submit your blog to search engines and blog directories. It will be nice if you could give a link of your blog in your email signature file, on your website,  in your newsletters and in articles that you post in article directories.

Any kind of outgoing correspondences like sales letters, auto responders, white papers should have alink of your blog. You may even print your blog url on business cards, flyers and brochures. It is very important to update your blog on a daily basis.

Post interesting useful content everyday as this will lead search engines to find you more easily. Giving the link to your blog in social networking sites like facebook and twitter will also help.
